Multiple births are relatively uncommon, with twins occurring in about 2% of pregnancies and quadruplets being even more rare, happening once in several tens of millions of cases. Nevertheless, extraordinary events do occur. Fourteen years ago, during her initial ultrasound, Julia was astonished to learn she was pregnant with quadruplets.
