In Cornwall, England, officials are searching for a mysterious motorist who decided to fix a massive pothole in the middle of the street with concrete. Cornwall’s roads are known to have their share of issues, and the area at the top of Tanhouse Highway and Bodmin Hill in Lostwithiel was no exception. The road was officially closed in April due to ongoing drainage problems that caused the street surface to deteriorate.

However, after a month of inaction from the government, an anonymous individual decided they had enough of the large pothole and took matters into their own hands. They filled the pothole with concrete over the first weekend in May, temporarily reopening the road. But Cornwall Council’s road repair company, Cormac, closed the road again, stating that the DIY repair was not official and their team had not carried out the work.

Now, Cornwall Highways officials are determined to find the person responsible for the unauthorized repair. They mentioned that the individual had also removed signs without consent. The road was initially supposed to be closed until June 9th to address the backlog of pothole repairs.
