This blue line is being introduced on roads throughout Maryland to honor the brave police officers who serve their communities. Additionally, this line functions as a safety measure, leading directly to the police station. It’s also a meaningful gesture, showing appreciation for the officers who risk their lives daily.
Recently, Ocean City, Maryland, added these blue lines to their roads, which was well-received by Mayor Rick Sheehan. He recognizes the significant role police officers play in maintaining order in his beautiful beach town, balancing the needs of older retirees and the lively teenagers who come to party. The blue line has been painted between the existing yellow divider lines on Ocean City’s 65th Street, directing straight to the Ocean City Police Department headquarters. Hopefully, more communities across the nation will adopt this initiative, painting blue lines in their towns.
