A message displayed on the front window of a Dairy Queen in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, has ignited online controversy. The sign prominently features traditional holiday greetings such as “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Easter,” alongside expressions of gratitude to veterans on Veterans Day.

Kevin Scheunemann, the restaurant’s owner, defends the sign, explaining it was put up nearly four years ago to transparently reflect his and his staff’s dedication to serving God and country. The sign was initially a response to a customer complaint about Christian music in the restaurant and has not caused any significant issues since.

The sign gained renewed attention when an Oregon tourist posted a picture of it on Facebook, sparking a debate about its inclusivity. Opinions are divided, with some supporting the message while others criticize its implications. Local business owners back Scheunemann’s stance, asserting that customers can choose to leave if they disagree. Dairy Queen’s corporate office clarified that Scheunemann’s approach does not reflect the company’s official stance and stressed the importance of treating all customers with respect, regardless of their religious beliefs.
