Pets can run away from home for various reasons—they might be scared, overly curious, or even mistreated. However, the story of one dog is truly extraordinary!
A woman was quietly sitting at home when a dog suddenly appeared. He looked well-fed and didn’t seem like a threat, so she began to pet him. Then, he followed her into the house. The woman decided to share the story herself, and the more you read, the bigger your smile will become!
One day, an old dog approached a woman’s home, and what happened next was too good not to share. “An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of,” the woman began. Her story only grew more adorable from there…
“He calmly came over to me. I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner, and fell asleep,” she continued. “An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.”
“The very next day, he came back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall, and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks,” the woman recounted. Just what was this dog up to?
The woman then had an idea. “Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful, sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’”
The woman was shocked by the response. “The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: ‘He lives in a home with six children, two under the age of three—he’s trying to catch up on his sleep! Can I come with him tomorrow?’”
It seems like parents aren’t the only ones being kept up by young children. This old pooch is definitely lucky he’s so cute and can wander into a stranger’s home like that!
